The USCB Center for the Arts is currently presenting The Met: Live in HD Summer Encores on Wednesdys at 1 pm. Otello and The Enchanted Island have already enchanted audiences. Still to come are Rigoletto, La Rondine, Romeo et Juliette and La Fanciulla Del West.

Explorations in Water Media with Mary Kelly & Mary Sullivan
Two artists, both with the same first name – and frequently mistaken for one another probably due to their Irish-looking faces and Irish-sounding last names – decided to take the bull by the horns in presenting a joint exhibit of their water media art works. The exhibit, "Mary & Mary! Splash! Explorations in Water Media" will run through August 22 at the Hilton Head Public Library on Beach City Road off Hwy. 278.
2015 County Calendar Photo Contest focuses on trees.
Beaufort County is now accepting submissions for its tenth annual Land Preservation Calendar photo contest. The 2015 calendar theme is Branching Out: The Life, Landscapes & Love of Trees in Beaufort County.

Lowcountry resident Jane Hearn has curated a powerful exhibit for the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer.

When a South Carolina native Marian Wright took then Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy to a sharecropper's house in the Mississippi Delta, she didn't know the name of the lanky, white Millsaps College student in the shadows snapping photographs.
But 23-year-old Jim Lucas knew that he was witnessing – and capturing – history with his 35mm camera.
Dale Wescott Nature Awards
The 8th annual Dale Westcott Memorial Nature Awards were presented at the photography Club of Beaufort. Each year the club sponsors a nature photography contest for local high school students in memory of Dale Westcott, one of the club's early members.
Seas and Trees
The Beaufort Art Association presents "Seas and Trees, Paintings by Tom Van Steenbergh," an exhibit that runs through August 2nd. The work of 70 other Lowcountry artists is also on display.
